Department of Physics, Bangabasi College had conducted the following Seminars/Workshops very recently:

Pre-Master’s Workshop in Theoretical Physics, Cycle – I

“Pre-Master’s Workshop in Theoretical Physics, Cycle – I”, for outgoing final year students, was funded by the College and was held from 15th till 19th May’ 2017.
It was a high demand on behalf of the participants that the tenure of the workshop should be longer and the next cycles should follow soon.

The resource persons consisted of :

One Day Workshop on CBCS-Physics Syllabus

“One Day Workshop on CBCS-Physics Syllabus”, in Collaboration with U.G Board of Studies, University of Calcutta, on 7th May 2018, at Acharya Prasanta Kumar Bose Auditorium, Bangabasi College. It was attended by over 200 faculty members of different Colleges under the University. The speakers were Prof. Amitava Raychaudhuri, Prof. Salil Kumar Biswas, Prof. Tilak Sinha & Prof. Suman Bandopadhaya.

Prof. Shyamadas Chatterjee Endowment Lecture

“”Prof. Shyamadas Chatterjee Endowment Lecture”, in association with Indian Physical Society, was delivered by Amitava Raychaudhuri, Prof. Emeritus, University of Calcutta on 1st September 2017, at Acharya Prasanta Kumar Bose Auditorium, Bangabasi College. C.K. Majumdar Memorial Experimental Physics Workshop

“C.K. Majumdar Memorial Experimental Physics Workshop” in collaboration with Indian Association of Physics Teachers, IAPT, Regional Council – 15, from 22nd till 24th December 2016, for first year Physics Honours students. Participation was enthusiastic from this college as well as from other colleges. Innovative experiments were demonstrated by IAPT members and performed by students themselves. The students on the second day, were addressed by eminent high energy physicist, Prof. Sukalyan Chattopadhyaya of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata. His motivating lecture was highly appreciated by students.

Integrated PhD interviews

. “Integrated PhD interviews in Physics-A positive march towards a research career” on 16th May 2016 Monday, at the Acharya P.K. Bose Memorial Auditorium Hall. It was funded by the College and received tremendous response from students from all over the city.The speakers were.

Chat with a Scholar

“Chat with a Scholar”- A very own initiative on behalf of the Physics Department has earned tremendous
acclaim & response from undergraduate students all over Kolkata. A research scholar working in an active field
of Physics is invited over to chat informally with the students to motivate them and the entire event is video-
recorded & shared over Youtube. The scholars who had visited are:
